Any adult requesting treatment
services will be offered an individual assessment by a
trained substance abuse professional to determine the
appropriate level of care necessary to address his or her
substance abuse. CRS currently offers three different levels
of A.S.A.M. designated outpatient substance abuse
treatment including Partial Care and Intensive Outpatient
Services and Outpatient Services.
Level I
Outpatient Services
Outpatient Services is designed for
an adult who can benefit from professional treatment for
less than nine hours per week to address his or her
substance use disorder.
Specific treatment services mirror
those offered in Intensive Outpatient Care, but at a
graduated basis with emphasis placed on helping each
client to maintain his or her abstinence and in developing
relapse prevention skills. A client receiving Outpatient
Services may benefit from the flexibility of this lower
level of treatment that will allow him or her to both
receive treatment and to attend to other personal
responsibilities such as school, work, or family.
Typically a total of 1 to 3 hours of
treatment services will be provided weekly Monday through
Friday, between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. based
upon planning through a graduated step-down course of
counseling services within Level I outpatient, beginning
with 3 hours per week. Services are designed to provide
information and support, to intervene on self-defeating
behaviors in a professional manner and to assist each
client in maintaining abstinence from the use of alcohol
and other drugs of abuse.
Specific program services include, but are not
limited to the following:
- Group Counseling
- Topic-oriented discussion and process groups
- Psycho-education
- An introduction to self-help

processes, individual and family dynamics provided by
qualified agency staff. Process groups help establish
healthy recovery patterns, see attached examples of
treatment schedules for group topics and group focus
therein. Group and individual counseling help to develop
solution-oriented strategies for change to support
addiction recovery. Models utilized in counseling to
effect positive changes are behavioral modification
counseling, Client Centered Treatment, Cognitive
Behavioral Treatment, Motivational Enhancement, etc.
Family education and counseling provide an opportunity for
family members to identify and address personal family
dynamics and issues associated with the identified
client’s problems/solutions. Self-help support groups of
the 12 Step model serve as an adjunct to treatment
experience and clients are encouraged to integrate into
the meetings by joining and participating on a regular
basis for recovery support sustainability. Routine and
random toxicology screening will be provided.
